Under the authority of section 16 of the Student Financial Assistance Act, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following regulations.

Short title

        1. This regulation may be cited as the Student Financial Assistance Board of Directors Regulations.

Definitions

        2. In these regulations,

             (a)  "Act" means the Student Financial Assistance Act;

             (b)  "board" means the board of directors of the corporation; and

             (c)  "corporation" means the Student Loan Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador established under section 14.1 of the Act.

Composition of board of directors

        3. (1) There shall be 5 directors on the board of directors of the corporation.

             (2)  The directors of the board shall be, by virtue of their positions, the following:

             (a)  Deputy Minister of the Department of Advanced Education and Skills, who shall also be chair of the board;

             (b)  Deputy Minister of the Department of Finance;

             (c)  Comptroller General;

             (d)  Assistant Deputy Minister, Advanced Studies, of the Department of Advanced Education and Skills; and

             (e)  Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services, of the Department of Advanced Education and Skills.
