CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 814/96

Bay Roberts Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act
(O.C. 96-173)

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council defines the following area as the Bay Roberts Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Beginning at a point, that point being the centre of the northern abutment of the Conception Bay North Highway bridge spanning Shearstown Brook;

Then in a northeasterly direction, along the sinuosities of the shoreline of Spaniard's Bay at highwater mark, passing Bears Cove to Mad Point;

Then in a southwesterly direction, along the sinuosities of the shoreline of Bay Roberts at highwater mark, passing Frenchs Cove, Jones Head, the Klondike, Coley's Point and Long Beach, to the outlet of Black Duck Pond;

Then in a southwesterly direction along the southern shoreline of Black Duck Pond to a point, that point being the southernmost extremity of that pond;

Then south 61° 45' west a distance of 1,850 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being 320 metres, more or less, east of the centre line of the Conception Bay North Highway and on the Bay Roberts municipal boundary;

Then in a southerly direction along that boundary a distance of 75 metres, more or less, to a point, that point having co-ordinates north 5 268 783 and east 283 193;

Then in a westerly direction along the Bay Roberts municipal boundary to a point on the North River municipal boundary, that point being 50 metres, more or less, north of the centre line of an unnamed road and 450 metres, more or less, west of the centre line of the Conception Bay North Highway;

Then due south along the North River municipal boundary a distance of 346 metres, more or less, to a point, that point having spot elevation of 54.2 metres;

Then south 61° 45' west a distance of 950 metres, more or less, to the point where the Canadian National Railway intersects the southern shore of Mussel Bed Pond;

Then south 69° 00' west a distance of 1,195 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being a height of land having a spot elevation of 148.9 metres;

Then south 54° 30' west a distance of 4,950 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the easternmost extremity of Black Pond;

Then in a southwesterly direction along the northern shoreline to the westernmost extremity of Black Pond;

Then south 69° 00' west a distance of 3,000 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the westernmost extremity of an unnamed pond;

Then north 55° 15' west a distance of 2,100 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the westernmost extremity of Long Pond;

Then north 10° 00' west a distance of 1,600 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the westernmost extremity of Bishops Pond;

Then north 21° 30' east a distance of 2,350 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the westernmost extremity of Nine Island Pond;

Then in a general easterly direction along the northern shoreline of that pond to a point, that point being the eastern bank of a small brook flowing into the northernmost extremity of that pond;

Then north 69° 30' east a distance of 2,150 metres, more or less, to a point, that point being the northernmost extremity of an unnamed pond due south of Grassy Gullies;

Then in a general easterly direction along the northern shoreline of the unnamed pond to a point, that point being 350 metres, more or less, due west of the most westerly point on the Spaniards Bay municipal boundary, that point having co-ordinates north 5 269 700 and east 319 600;

Then in an easterly direction along the Spaniards Bay municipal boundary to a point, that point being the northern abutment of the Conception Bay North Highway bridge spanning Shearstown Brook, the point of beginning.

All bearings refer to grid north and, as with distances given, are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:2500 and 1:5000 Crown Lands and Surveys Division Mapping, 1984 edition, and the National Topographic Map 1:50,000, 1985 edition.
