CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 1033/96

Barachois Pond Provincial Park Proclamation
under the
Provincial Parks Act
(O.C. 96-189)

Under the authority of section 4 of the Provincial Parks Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council proclaims the area described in the Schedule to be a provincial park.

                   The Barachois Park Proclamation, Newfoundland Regulation 151/80, is repealed.

Schedule

All that area within the province situate and being on the southeastern side of the Trans Canada Highway at Barachois Pond in the province, abutted and bounded as follows, that is to say:

Beginning at a point in the easterly limit of the Trans Canada Highway, reserved 61 metres wide, where the south boundary of Reid Lot 20 intersects the easterly limit of the highway;

Then running along the easterly limit of the highway in a northerly direction 701 metres to a point marked by an iron pin set in concrete;

Then turning and running east 5,987.2 metres to a point marked by a wooden post set in the ground;

Then turning and running south 3,919.7 metres to a point marked by a wooden post set in the ground;

Then turning and running west 8,565.5 metres to a point marked by a wooden post set in the ground;

Then turning and running north 16° 15' west 1,341.9 metres to a point marked by a wooden post set in the easterly limit of the highway;

Then turning and running along the easterly limit of the highway in a general northeasterly direction to the point of beginning and containing an area of 3,496.9 hectares.

All bearings are referred to the true meridian.
