Order
under the
Municipalities Act

Under the authority of section 3 of the Municipalities Act
and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act
, the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

Short title
1.
This Order may be cited as the Town of Buchans Order

The boundaries of the Town of
Buchans
are as set out in the Schedule.

Repeal

Newfoundland
Regulations 700/78 and 188/92 are repealed.

Schedule
Beginning at a point on the western shoreline of Buchans Brook, that point being on the western shoreline of
Middle
Branch
River
where that river runs into Buchans Brook;
Then in a westerly direction along the western shoreline of Middle Branch River to and along the western shoreline of Duhart's Pond and continuing along the western shoreline of Middle Branch River to a point, that point being where the river is crossed by a hydro transmission line;
Then in a northerly direction along the transmission (centre) line via its northern branch a distance of 3,650 metres, more or less, to a point on the western shoreline of Rothermere Pond;
Then in a northerly direction along the western shoreline of Rothermere Pond to the northwest extremity of that pond;
Then north 62° 30' east 1,225 metres, more or less, to summit of a hill, locally known as Laycocks Lookout;
Then north 87° 30' east 640 metres, more or less, to a point on the eastern end of a dam on the southern shoreline of an unnamed pond which feeds into Buchans Brook;
Then in an easterly direction via the dam to the western shoreline of Buchans Brook;
Then in a southerly direction along the western shoreline of Buchans Brook to a point, that point being the point of beginning.
All bearings herein refer to grid north and as with distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:2500 scale mapping and the 1:50,000 National Topographic Mapping.
