CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 947/96

Wabush Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act
(O.C. 96-173)

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council defines the following area as the Wabush Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Beginning at the east bank of Wabush Lake where the river from Flora Lake empties into Wabush Lake ;

Then south 77° 30' east to the southernmost shore of Moose Head Lake ;

Then south 11° 00' west a distance of 6,675 metres, more or less, to the summit, elevation 701.65 metres, of a hill;

Then south 8° 00' east a distance of 4,900 metres, more or less, to the northernmost shore of a lake;

Then following the eastern shoreline of that lake to its southernmost shore;

Then due south to the Quebec-Newfoundland and Labrador boundary;

Then following the Quebec-Newfoundland and Labrador boundary to a hill and proceeding to the top of that hill to a point having UTM grid reference 644 200 metres east and 5 849 500 metres north;

Then south 47° 00' west a distance of 4,250 metres, more or less, to the southernmost shoreline of a pond;

Then following the western shoreline of that pond to the headwaters of a river which flows to Long Lake ;

Then following the eastern bank of that river to Long Lake ;

Then following the eastern shoreline of Long Lake to the narrows between Long Lake and Little Wabush Lake;

Then following the southern shoreline of the narrows to Little Wabush Lake;

Then following the southern and eastern shoreline of Little Wabush Lake and the southern and eastern shoreline of Wabush Lake to the place of beginning.

All bearings being referred to grid north and subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:50,000 National Topographic Mapping.
