Glover Island Public Reserve Order
under the
Lands Act

Under the authority of subsection 8(2) of the Lands Act , the minister with the approval of the Lieutenant-Governor in Council makes the following Order.

ORDER

Analysis



Short title

        1. This Order may be cited as the Glover Island Public Reserve Order .

Area included

        2. The Glover Island Public Reserve is established and the area included for the purpose of protecting the habitat of the Newfoundland Marten is set out in the Schedule.

        3. The reserve is established for a 10 year period.

Schedule

All that piece or parcel of land situate and being at Glover Island, Grand Lake, in the Electoral District of St. Georges-Stephenville East abutted and bounded as follows:

Beginning at a point on the northeasterly shoreline of Glover Island, that point being located at the low water mark of Grand Lake where a brook flows into Grand Lake and having scaled UTM coordinates of north 5,416,332 metres and east 460,210 metres;

Then running along the sinuosities of the shoreline of Glover Island at low water, in general southerly, southwesterly and northeasterly directions for a scaled distance of 85,792 metres, more or less, to the point of beginning;

Reserving nevertheless out of the above described piece or parcel of land all roads and adjacent rights of way crossing the parcel;

The above described piece or parcel of land being subject to a Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro Line Easement 152.4 metres wide extending through the land;

And containing an area of 177.58 kilometres squared, more or less.

All bearings being referred to Zone 21, of the Universal Transverse Mercator Projection, NAD 83.
