EXPLANATORY NOTE The Bill would amend the City of Corner Brook Act, the City of Mount Pearl Act and the City of St. John's Act to grant these cities the power to make regulations to control, for purposes of conservation, the use of water within the city.

CITY OF ST. JOHN'S ACT 3. S.114.1 Added Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows: CITY OF CORNER BROOK ACT RSNL1990 cC-15 as amended 1. Subsection 187(1) of the City of Corner Brook Act is amended by: (a) striking out the word "and" at the end of paragraph (h); (b) striking out the period at the end of paragraph (i) and substituting a semi-colon and the word "and"; and (c) adding immediately after paragraph (i) the following: (j) restricting or prohibiting the use of water in the city for conservation purposes. CITY OF MOUNT PEARL ACT RSNL1990 cC-16 as amended 2. Subsection 187(1) of the City of Mount Pearl Act is amended by: (a) deleting the word "and" at the end of paragraph (h); (b) striking out the period at the end of paragraph (i) and substituting a semi-colon and the word "and"; and (c) adding immediately after paragraph (i) the following: (j) restricting or prohibiting the use of water in the city for conservation purposes. CITY OF ST. JOHN'S ACT RSNL1990 cC-17 as amended 3. The City of St. John's Act is amended by adding immediately after section 114 the following: Regulations 114.1 The council may make regulations restricting or prohibiting the use of water in the city for conservation purposes.
