EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Bill would amend the Grand Concourse Authority Act to provide the Grand Concourse Authority with power to provide advice relating to the design, construction and maintenance of pedestrian trails, bicycle paths and related amenities to persons and organizations who are not members of the authority.

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

        1. Section 3 of the Grand Concourse Authority Act is repealed and the following substituted:

Purpose of authority

        3. The purpose of the authority is to foster, promote and enable the design, development and operation, by or for the members, of an integrated network of walkways, bicycle paths and amenities on land owned or occupied by the members, to be known as the Grand Concourse

 

        2. Section 5 of the Act is amended by adding immediately after paragraph (i) the following:

           (i.1)  to provide advice to persons and associations who are not members of the authority respecting the design, construction and maintenance of pedestrian trails, bicycle paths and related amenities;
