EXPLANATORY NOTES
This Bill would amend the Hearing Aid Practitioners Act to
· repeal a subsection of the Act that will no longer be required when the Health Professions Act is proclaimed for audiologists; and
· clarify and confirm that section 31 of the Act is intended to apply to an audiometric technician working under the supervision of a hearing aid practitioner.

Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows:

1. (1) Paragraph 31(a) of the Hearing Aid Practitioners Act is repealed.
(2) Paragraph 31(b) of the Act is repealed and the following substituted:
(b) an audiometric technician working under the supervision of a hearing aid practitioner who assists in the measurement of human hearing,

2. Subsection 1(1) of this Act comes into force on the date that the Health Professions Act comes into force for audiologists.
