EXPLANATORY NOTES This Bill would amend the Independent Appointments Commission Act to allow for the appointment of a minimum of 5 members and a maximum of 7 members to the Independent Appointments Commission. A BILL AN ACT TO AMEND THE INDEPENDENT APPOINTMENTS COMMISSION ACT Analysis 1.

S.7 Amdt. Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows: SNL2016 cI-2.1 1. Subsection 6(3) of the Independent Appointments Commission Act is repealed and the following substituted: (3) The commission shall consist of a minimum of 5 members and a maximum of 7 members appointed by the Lieutenant-Governor in Council on resolution of the House of Assembly. 2. Subsection 7(5) of the Act is repealed and the following substituted: (5) With the exception of the first 5 members appointed to the commission and the reappointment of those members, if granted, this Act applies to the appointment of the members of the commission. ©Queen's Printer |
