EXPLANATORY NOTES This Bill would amend the Forestry Act to · allow more than one person to be named as assistants on a cutting permit for timber for personal consumption; and · allow the minister to set the maximum number of persons that may be named as assistants on a cutting permit for timber for personal consumption. S.27 Amdt. Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows: RSNL1990 cF-23 1. Subsection 27(3) of the Forestry Act is repealed and the following substituted: (3) A cutting permit shall not be assignable or transferable to another person, but a person to whom a permit is issued to cut timber for his or her personal consumption may obtain the assistance of one or more persons, whose names shall appear on the permit, to assist him or her in cutting the quantity of timber that the permit allows. (3.1) Notwithstanding subsection (3), the minister may set the maximum number of persons who may provide assistance to a person to whom a permit is issued to cut timber for his or her personal consumption. ©Queen's Printer |
