CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 828/96

Cartwright Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act
(O.C. 96-173)

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council defines the following area as the Cartwright Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Commencing at a point on the highwater line of Goose Cove having UTM co-ordinates 5 951 500 metres north and 508 100 metres east, that point situated where a small brook flows into Goose Cove;

Then following the southern limit of the small brook in a generally southwest direction to a point on the western side of an unnamed pond, that point having UTM co-ordinates 5 950 490 metres north and 505 450 metres east, that point being 2,836 metres, more or less, from previously mentioned point on a bearing of south 69° west;

Then running along the western shoreline of the unnamed pond on a bearing of south 18° east to a point situated where an unnamed brook flows into the pond, that point having UTM co-ordinates 5 950 050 metres north and 505 600 metres east, that point being 464 metres from previously mentioned point;

Then running south 35° west a distance of 1,775 metres to a point on top of a small hill, that point having UTM co-ordinates 5 948 600 metres north and 504 575 metres east;

Then running south 3° east a distance of 2,053 metres to a point on top of a hill having UTM co-ordinates 5 946 550 metres north and 504 700 metres east;

Then running south 37° west a distance of 1,328 metres to a point on the south end of a small pond, that point having UTM co-ordinates 5 945 490 metres north and 503 900 metres east;

Then running south 63° west a distance of 2,611 metres to a point on top of a hill, that point having UTM co-ordinates 5 944 300 metres north and 501 575 metres east;

Then running north 74° west a distance of 3,135 metres to a point on top of a hill, that point having UTM co-ordinates 5 945 125 metres north and 498 550 metres east;

Then running north 34° west a distance of 1,116 metres to a point on the edge of a steep escarpment, that point having UTM co-ordinates 5 946 050 metres north and 497 925 metres east;

Then following a small brook which flows down the escarpment to a point having UTM co-ordinates 5 947 025 metres north and 497 100 metres east, that point being 1,277 metres from previously mentioned point on a bearing of north 40° west from that previously mentioned point;

Then running north 46° west a distance of 725 metres to a point on the highwater mark of the shoreline of Favourite Tickle, that point having UTM co-ordinates 5 947 525 metres north and 496 575 metres east;

Then running in a generally north and east direction following the sinuosities of the shoreline of Favourite Tickle through Cartwright and around to Goose Cove to the point of commencement.

All bearings refer to grid north, all co-ordinates derived from 1:50,000 map sheet, edition 2, 1974, transverse mercator projection.
