CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 832/96

Clarenville Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act
(O.C. 96-173)

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council defines the following area as the Clarenville Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Beginning at a point on the highwater mark of the western shoreline of Northwest Arm, that point being the easternmost extremity of Bluff Point;

Then south 79° 00' west 4,900 metres, more or less, to a point on the southeastern extremity of the Lower Shoal Harbour River Protected Water Supply Area;

Then north 46° 30' west 975 metres, more or less, along the water supply area boundary;

Then south 61° 30' west 2,075 metres, more or less, to a point at the base of a communication tower;

Then south 2° 00' west 1,050 metres, more or less, to a high point ;

Then south 33° 00' west 1,900 metres, more or less, to a high point ;

Then north 85° 30' west 1,500 metres, more or less, to a high point ;

Then north 47° 30' west 1,075 metres, more or less, to the easternmost extremity of Tug Pond;

Then north 1° 30' west 2,250 metres, more or less, to the easternmost extremity of Goose Pond;

Then in a northerly direction 7,000 metres, more or less, to the easternmost extremity of a pond locally known as Long Lune Pond;

Then due west 7,150 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then due north 6,900 metres, more or less, to a point;

Then due east 5,750 metres, more or less, to a point on the centre line of the Canadian National Railway right-of-way;

Then south 63° 30' east 10,750 metres, more or less, to a point where the southern limits of Route 231 to Random Island intersects the eastern limits of Route 230;

Then in an easterly direction along the southern limits of Route 231 to a point on the highwater mark of Northwest Arm;

Then in a southerly direction along the sinuosities of the shoreline of that arm passing Aspey Point, Shoal Harbour , Red Point, Dark Hole, Russells Cove to Bluff Point, the point of beginning.

All bearings refer to grid north and as with distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:50,000 National Topographic Maps 2C/4 and 2D/1.
