and the
Wild Life Act

Under the authority of sections 3.2 and 4.1 of the Wild Life Regulations and the Wild Life Act , I make the following Order.

Analysis



Short title

       1.   This Order may be cited as the Salmon Angling and Tag Use Order, 2019 .

Tags - class 2 rivers

       2.  Salmon retained by angling on rivers designated as Class 2 rivers under the Newfoundland and Labrador Fishery Regulations (Canada ) shall be tagged with only red tag number one.

Tags – class 4 and 6 rivers and unclassified rivers

       3.   Salmon retained by angling on rivers designated as Class 4 or 6 and on unclassified rivers under the Newfoundland and Labrador Fishery Regulations (Canada) shall be tagged with only

            (a)  red tag number one; or

           (b)  green tag number 3.

Conditions on tag use

       4.   When a person affixes a tag referred to in this Order to a salmon, the person shall immediately cut out and remove the month and day of capture on the tag.

Repeal

       5.  The Salmon Angling and Tag Use Order , Newfoundland and Labrador Regulation 44/18, is repealed.
