Appleton Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000 , I define the following area as the Appleton Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA


Beginning at a point on the centre line of the east abutment of the Trans-Canada Highway bridge spanning the Gander River between Glenwood and Appleton;

Thence running in a general northerly direction along the east shoreline of the Gander River to a point having coordinates east 387,891 metres and north 5,429,975 metres, more or less;

Thence heading in a southeasterly direction to a point having coordinates east 389,335 metres and north 5,429,798 metres, more or less;

Thence heading in a southwesterly direction to a point having coordinates east 389,299 metres and north 5,429,458 metres, more or less;

Thence heading in a southeasterly direction to a point having coordinates east 389,935 metres and north 5,428,389 metres, more or less;

Thence heading south to a point on the shoreline of an unnamed pond;

Thence running southeast along the shoreline to a point having coordinates east 389,649 metres and north 5,427,703 metres, more or less;

Thence heading west to a point having coordinates east 389,295 metres and north 5,427,703 metres, more or less;

Thence heading in a northwest direction to a point having coordinates east 389,243 metres and north 5,427,757 metres, more or less;

Thence heading in a southwest direction to a point having coordinates east 389,111 metres and north 5,427,669 metres, more or less;

Thence heading in a southwesterly direction to a point on the centre line of the Trans-Canada Highway having coordinates east 389,094 metres and north 5,427,502 metres, more or less;

Thence running along the centre line of the Trans-Canada Highway a distance of 2.4 km to a point having coordinates east 390,364 metres and north 5,425,837 metres, more or less;

Thence heading in a southwesterly direction to a point having coordinates east 389,888 metres and north 5,425,013 metres, more or less;

Thence heading in a southeasterly direction to a point having coordinates east 390,259 metres and north 5,424,807 metres, more or less;

Thence heading in a southwesterly direction to a point having coordinates east 389,950 metres and north 5,424,512 metres, more or less;

Thence heading in a northwest direction to a point on the northern bank of an unknown river having coordinates east 388,616 metres and north 5,424,804 metres, more or less;;

Thence running in a general westerly direction along the northern bank of the river to the eastern shoreline of The Outflow - Gander River;

Thence running in a general northerly direction along the sinuosities of the eastern shoreline of The Outflow - Gander River to the point of beginning.

The above described piece or parcel of land containing approximately 931 hectares, more or less.

All coordinates being scaled from 30cm Orthorectified Imagery and being referenced to the North American Datum 1983 (NAD83) using the Modified Transverse Mercator (MTM) Zone 2 Projection.
