CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 818/96

Bishop's Falls Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act
(O.C. 96-173)

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council defines the following area as the Bishop's Falls Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Beginning at a position 500 metres west of a small island at the mouth of Great Rattling Brook, and more particularly being at the crossing point of the Newfoundland Power transmission line - 133L with the northern bank of the Exploits River;

Then running north 36° 30' west via 133L to and then beyond the Montrose Substation to the old railway, and running southwestward along the railway bed to New Bay Road;

Then running approximately 4 kilometres northward via New Bay Road to the southern abutment of the bridge over Peters River ;

Then running generally northeastward along the southern bank of Peters River to a point 2 kilometres northeastward from the northeastern end of a pond known locally as Black Duck Pond;

Then running due south 945 metres, and due east 6,900 metres to the northern shoreline of the Exploits River, crossing Route 350 at a point 2.5 kilometres northward via the highway from the old railway crossing;

Then following the northern bank of the Exploits River generally southwestwardly to the point of beginning.

All bearings being referred to the true meridian and along with distances given are subject to approximation as delineated on the 1:50,000 National Topographic Mapping, 1971 edition, with reference to the Provincial Orthophoto Mapping, 1975 edition.
