CONSOLIDATED NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR REGULATION 890/96

Nain Municipal Planning Area
under the
Urban and Rural Planning Act
(O.C. 96-173)

Under the authority of section 11 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act and the Subordinate Legislation Revision and Consolidation Act , the Lieutenant-Governor in Council defines the following area as the Nain Municipal Planning Area.

PLANNING AREA

Beginning at a point on the highwater mark of the shoreline of Southern Point, that point being 3,000 metres, more or less, from the Nain community wharf, as measured on a bearing of south 64° east from that wharf;

Then running south 84° 30' west a distance of 8,750 metres to a point, that point being approximately 300 metres east of an unnamed pond;

Then running north 10° east a distance of 4,000 metres to a point on the highwater mark of the shoreline of the ocean;

Then following the sinuosities of the shoreline in a generally east and south direction, passing through Akipsai Bay , Northern Point, Unity Bay and Southern Point to the point of beginning.

All bearings refer to grid north, central meridian 63° west longitude, distances are subject to approximation as taken from the 1:50,000 National Topographic Provincial Map, 1972 edition.
