EXPLANATORY NOTE The purpose of this Bill is to permit the expropriation of land under the Expropriation Act for the purpose of the creation of a reserve under the Indian Act (Canada). This Bill would also clarify that national parks and national historic sites that may be expropriated are parks and sites under the jurisdiction of the Canada National Parks Act (Canada).
A BILL AN ACT TO AMEND THE EXPROPRIATION ACT Analysis 1. S.3 Amdt. Be it enacted by the Lieutenant-Governor and House of Assembly in Legislative Session convened, as follows: RSNL1990 cE-19 as amended 1. Paragraph 3(i) of the Expropriation Act is repealed and the following substituted: (i) transfer to the Crown in right of Canada for the purpose of a national park or national historic site established under the Canada National Parks Act (Canada); (i.1) transfer to the Crown in right of Canada for the purpose of the creation of a reserve under the Indian Act (Canada);
