Are you looking for an interesting and rewarding job while pursuing your studies?
Do you have an interest in the democratic process?
If you answered “yes” to these questions, you may be interested in applying for the Page Program!
Pages are hired to work during House of Assembly proceedings to provide assistance to Members, Officers and staff of the Legislature when it is in session.
Applicants to the Page Program must be registered full-time at a post-secondary institution.
Generally, Pages are employed to work for the duration of the fall and spring sessions of the House of Assembly. The scheduled sitting dates for the current and proceeding calendar year can be viewed in the Parliamentary Calendar. The House of Assembly may sit outside of the scheduled dates for extenuating reasons, in which case Pages may be asked to work in those circumstances and will be notified as far in advance as possible.
The House of Assembly will work with Pages to schedule shifts around school and other commitments. The following is a general outline of when shifts will be available, but there is no expectation for Pages to work each of these in any given week:
Monday – 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm
Tuesday – 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm
Wednesday – 9:00 am to 1:00 pm; OR 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm
Thursday – 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm
Note: Pages may occasionally be required to work other morning or evening shifts when there are Committee meetings or night sittings of the House of Assembly. Pages will be notified as far in advance as possible.
